Pickleball Clinics & Exhibition at Pelican Landing

The Elliott Pickleball family visited Pelican Landing in Bonita Springs, Florida on February 29th. Robert and Jodi Elliott (championship players and owners of EngagePickleball) were joined by their two teenage children, Joshua and Rachel, in conducting two pickleball clinics in the morning and an exhibition of quality pickleball play in the afternoon for residents of Pelican Landing.

The clinics included 16 players with four to a court. Members of the Elliott family demonstrated various skills and then rotated around the four courts helping players do drills for their serve, return of serve, 3rd shot and a remarkable drill on how to deal with hard hitters while positioned at the net, called “move-block-freeze".

In the afternoon, the Elliott family put on a display of championship pickle ball. Josh and Rachel, current National Junior champions, played with and against their parents. Play was often stopped for instruction or to answer questions from the audience. The court-side viewers enjoyed the close-up action as they watched from the railings blocking off the center court. To top things off, the weather was perfect and the winds light.
