 All Pickleball All the Time

Welcome to the Bing's Pickleball Blog hosted on pickleballus.com

The first post will appear Monday, March 7th, 2016. The BPBlog will cover and examine everything Pickleball in the USA and Internationally with topics ranging from gear to Pickleball etiquette through court design to examining the future of Pickleball. For 50 years the main goal of Pickleball has been to have FUN and fun will be the guiding light of this blog. Blog entries will be short with added photos and/or video links.

Sharon and Keith Bing have spent the last 30 years in London, UK and Noosa Heads, Australia playing & coaching a wide variety of sports along with ocean boogie boarding. Three years ago we moved to the
USA with the idea of Keith playing and umpiring softball in Florida. The softball plans came to an abrupt halt after landing in Orlando, Florida for a visit with an old college/academic friend living in The Villages. The friend, who once tried and failed to get Keith interested in tennis, said, “you have to try this sport called Pickleball”. Reluctantly, he went to the Pickleball courts and within 10 minutes the hook was in. That same summer, looking for our own place, we found a community in Bonita Springs that was in the process of putting in six new PB courts. We both started playing in earnest and are now addicted to the sport, as are most Pickleball players we have met. The sport is growing so fast - in our community, those six courts are now full to the brim most every day. The sound of the ball hitting the paddle, the speed of play, the instant mental calculations needed to determine how and where to hit an incoming ball, the brilliant design of the kitchen and the pure fun of it all has created a very special game.
